A NEW INDEPENDENT VOICE FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF THE GRANITE BELT.
A new independent community-based, not-for-profit organisation has been formed on the Granite Belt and was incorporated in December 2016.
“The Granite Belt Community Association Inc. is an independent voice working to support the future of the communities of the Granite Belt. That is in fact our Mission Statement ….. “An independent voice working to support the future of the communities of the Granite Belt.” President Rev Alan Colyer said.
“We want to work cooperatively with Local, State and Federal Government representatives, Departments and authorities and other relevant organisations in order to resolve the concerns of our communities and their residents and to improve their futures.”
The association embraces the entire Granite Belt area and includes the communities of Amiens, Applethorpe, Ballandean, Bapaume, Broadwater, Cannon Creek, Cottonvale, Dalcouth, Dalveen, Diamondvale, Eukey, Fletcher, Fleubaix, Girraween, Glen Aplin, Glenlyon, Glen Niven, Goldfields, Greenlands, Kyoomba, Lyra, Maryland, Mingoola, Mt Tully, Nundubbermere, Palgrave, Passchendale, Pikedale, Pikes Creek, Pozieres, Severnlea, Somme, Springdale, Stanthorpe, Storm King, Sundown, Sugarloaf, The Summit, Thornlands, Thulimbah, Wallangarra and Wyberba.
“We are inviting residents, community groups and businesses from these communities to join the Granite Belt Community Association Inc. and to bring forward their concerns and ideas. We strongly believe that together we can achieve our goals.”
